In memory of all the Palestinian lives lost during the genocide

Children of Palestine

“Children of Palestine” is a kinetic sculpture…

“Children of Palestine” is a kinetic sculpture that pays tribute to the lives lost during the Palestinian genocide, with a particular focus on innocent children.

Portraying fragility & innocence

It elegantly portrays their fragility and innocence through the graceful motion of three flapping butterflies, symbolizing the same species found in Palestine, and poignant blood marks that underscore the human cost of conflict.

The goal was to create an interactive and kinetic artwork that seamlessly blends technology, emotion, and storytelling. I aimed to craft a hybrid art piece that not only captivates with its beauty but also evokes deep emotions and critical reflection on the tragedy of innocent lives lost.

The goal is to captivate & evoke emotion

We integrated servos and computer programming to choreograph the butterflies' delicate movements with an element of randomness, mimicking the unpredictability of life.

The journey began with meticulous research, ensuring authenticity in the choice of butterfly species native to Palestine.

Blood marks were strategically placed to symbolize the human cost of conflict.

Honoring the innocent

The result is "Children of Palestine," a kinetic sculpture that gracefully honors the innocent and reminds us of the enduring human spirit. It stands as a testament to the power of art to convey universal themes of innocence, resilience, and the importance of preserving the memory of those who have suffered.
